When is City Hall open?
City Hall is open from 8am - 5pm daily.
Court
I just received a citation, what do I need to do?
You have been issued a citation for a violation against the laws of the State of Oklahoma and/or the laws against the City of Savanna. On your citation you will see a "Court Date". Our court is a "Pay or Appear" court, which means, if you pay your fine before the court date, you do not have to appear. If you do not pay before the court date, you must appear.
What if I am not guilty?
If you feel that you are not guilty of the charge filed against you, then you have the right to contest your ticket. You will need to call the court at 918-548-3332, no later that two weeks later before court, to be sure you are placed on the trial docket.
Do I have to have an attorney to contest my ticket?
No, you do not have to have an attorney.
Why did the officer take my picture?
Since Covid, we are no longer taking signatures on the citations. Your photo is taken as verification as to your identity.
Why is the officer asking for my phone number?
The officer is asking for your phone number, so we can contact you if need be.
I don't live in Oklahoma, can I have virtural court?
No, we do not offer virtual court at this time.
Can I keep my ticket off my record?
If you have a regular class driver's license, you can call the court at 918-548-3332 and speak to the clerk to request Deferred Adjudication.
Procedures & Fines
I just received a citation, what do I need to do?
Our court is a Pay or Appear court, which means, you will either need to have your fine paid before the court date or you will have to appear in court.
I received a citation for no insurance, what do I need to do?
If you had insurance at the time of the stop, you can ask your insurance provider to email proof of insurance to [email protected] to have your citation dismissed. Do not assume your citation is dismissed, you must contact the court at 918-548-3332 to verify that we received your documention.
Why did the officer take my picture?
The officer may ask to take your picture because, since Covid we no longer accept signatures for your safety as well as the officer's safety. Also, if you do not have a valid ID or Driver's License, the officer may take your photo for proof of identity.
Why is the officer asking for my phone number?
The officer asks for your phone number so that we can call you if there is a change in court dates.
Can I get a payment plan?
Yes, you can get a payment plan. Call the court at 918-548-3332 and request a payment plan from the clerk.
Can I keep this ticket off my driving record?
If you have a regular class driver's license, you may contact the court at 918-548-3332 and request Deferred Adjudication from the clerk. The fees for the Deferred Adjudication are graduated per fine amount, beginning at $100 and ending at $300. The court clerk will be able to help you with this.
Am I able to do community service to pay for my fine?
No, we do not offer community service at this time.
Am I able to turn myself in and go to jail instead of paying my fine?
No
Can I get an extension to pay my fine?
Yes, you can get one extension, but no more.
What if I am not guilty?
If you feel you are not guilty of the charge filed against you, then you must contact the court at 918-548-3332 and request to be placed on the trial docket. You must do this no later that two weeks prior to your court date.
Do I have to have an attorney to contest my ticket?
No, you do not have to have an attorney, you can represent yourself.
I don't live in Oklahoma, can I have virtural court?
No, we do not offer virtual court at this time.
What if I can't make my court appearance?
You can have one continuation, after that you will have to post your bond with the court clerk.
What happens if I just don't pay my fine?
If you don't pay you fine and you don't appear in court a $500 Failure to appear fee will be added to your fine. A Bench Warrant will be issued for your arrest and a $25 Warrant fee will be added to your amount due. A Failure to appear letter will be mailed out to you. You will be given a certian amount of time to pay your fine and cost. If you don't pay by the time alotted, your license will be suspended and your citation will be sent to our collections company which will add an additional 35% to your total amount due.
My vehicle was impounded, how do I go about getting it back?

IMPOUND RELEASE INFORMATION
All Vehicles impounded for violations of State Law, or Municipal Ordinance will require an
impound release.
This document will assist you in meeting the requirements for the release of impounded

Impound Releases will only be issued between 7:00am and 7:00 pm,
Monday - Sunday.
A $100.00 Processing fee is required prior to obtaining a Release.
* FEE MUST BE PAID BY MONEY ORDER.
PROOF OF OWNERSHIP:
1. Print out from Tag Agency showing them as the Registered Owner; or
2. Title registered in owner's name; or
3. Title properly signed by the seller, dated, notarized (if required on title),
and the owner's name filled out on the Title.
PROOF OF IDENTITY:
1. Valid Driver's License or ID Card; or
2. Federal or State Government issued ID card; or
3. Other state or federally issued photo identification.
* PASSPORTS WILL BE ACCEPTED ONLY IF STAMPED BY U.S. CUSTOMS
AND BORDER PROTECTION.
PROOF OF INSURANCE:
1. Valid insurance verification form, not expired with VIN of vehicle listed or;
2. Valid insurance policy not expired with VIN of vehicle listed or;
3. Valid affidavit of non-use and vehicle cannot be driven from facility.
*THE INSURANCE COMPANY WILL ALSO BE CONTACTED TO INSURE POLICY IS
CURRENT AND ACTIVE.
Application Process
I am interested in applying for a job with the City of Savanna, what do I do?
You will need to fill out an application if available. Please ensure you meet the qualifications for the position you wish to be considered for. If you would like to include a resume, simply attach it to the completed application. You may mail or drop off the application at City Hall. Interviews will be scheduled accordingly.
Does the City of Savanna hire part time employees?
Yes, we do hire part time employees. Availability of these positions will be posted here when available.
Council
How do I speak to a Member of Council?
Every council meeting (Second Monday of Each Month) is open to the public and is open to public discussion or you can contact City Hall to request a contact.
Sanitation & Recycling
When are the garbage collection days for my street?
Please refer to the monthly schedule. Remember, observed holidays will alter the normal routine.
Water Utilities
What is the deposit amount to turn my water on?
$100 for Residential
$250 for Commercial
$50 Connect fee
How may polocarts can I have?
You can have up to 4 polycarts, after that you will have to get a commercial polycart or a dumpster.
How could I have used this much water?
You may not have - the numbers on your meter may have been transposed or hard to read. You could possibly have a leaky toilet or faucet that's difficult to detect. Just call the office and we'll work with you to solve the problem.
When is my bill due?
You water bill is due on the 15th of each month. If the payment is not received by the 15th, a late fee will be added on the 16th or the next business day.
Do I have to pay with cash?
No, you can use a credit or debit card or check. Only time you cannot use a credit or debit card is when you are paying your deposit.
Can I call the water office and pay over the phone?
No, you will need to call 877-591-8768 to pay over the phone.
Why do I have a previous balance when I know I sent in my payment?
We may have received it after the due date or we may not have received it at all. Call our office and we will help you solve the problem.
My bill is past due can I get an extension?
Please contact our office and a one-time extension will be extended to you for extenuating circumstances.
What do I do if I am experiencing low pressure?
Check your meter and the surrounding area for possible leaks. Next, call our office and report low pressure for your area.
Why is my water discolored?
A repair could have been completed recently allowing air to enter the line, causing the milky look.
Can I fill out an application for water online?
No, not at this time. You must come in and fill out your application. Also, bring your rental agreement or ownership along with your ID.
Who do I call if I have a water leak or an emergency water situtation?
You can call the city hall or an officer.
Can I turn my water on or off?
No, there is a fine in place and will be issued for turning water on or off unless it is an emergency.
